It has been about a year since I've visited our local library. In that time they have completed a major renovation. Needles to say, I was surprised to see the renovation required removal of most of the books.
Interesting! I think our public libraries are now a primary access point for internet - many folks still lack internet access. Heck, you can't even apply for a job these days without Internet access.
Our library requires you to have 2 forms of identification and to give up your social security number before they'll rent books to you. And they don't even have the Reader's Guide to Periodicals. The librarian told us to look stuff up on the internet!
